Leiua and Lay to start against Wallabies

Alapati Leiua and Jordan Lay will feature in Samoa’s final warm-up match before the Rugby World Cup, after being named in the starting XV for the clash with Australia in Sydney on Saturday.

Leiua starts at outside centre while Lay starts in the front row against the Wallabies, who include David Pocock at openside flanker.

Four Bristol Bears players have been named in a 31-man Samoa squad for this month's Rugby World Cup in Japan.

Earlier this week, Chris Vui, Alapati Leiua and the Lay brother were all named in Steve Jackson's 31-man squad for the Rugby World Cup.

The squad was announced following Samoa’s 36-19 victory over the New Zealand Heartland XV at Eden Park on Saturday.

Samoa team to play Australia in Sydney:

Tim Nanai-Williams, Belgium Tuatagaloa, Alapati Leiua, Reynold Lee-Lo, Ed Fidow, Tusi Pisi, Scott Malolua, Afaesetiti Amosa, Jack Lam (capt), TJ Ioane, Kane Leaupepe, Teofilo Paulo, Michael Alaalatoa, Ray Niuia, Jordan Lay.

Replacements: Motu Matu'u, Paul Alo-Emile, Logovi'i Mulipola, Josh Tyrell, Seilala Lam, Dwayne Polataivao, AJ Alatimu, Ah See Tuala.
