Lindsay urges group to learn quickly and move forward

Tom Lindsay has challenged the Bristol Bears Women squad to learn quickly from their heavy derby defeat against Gloucester-Hartpury.

“It’s disappointing, you never want to come off the pitch not scoring a point. Going towards next week, we all need look at ourselves and go through our game and making sure we’re doing everything we can to be better next week.

“That doesn’t just go for the players, but all the staff as well. What can we do well to prepare the girls better, did we have the right game plan for the game and where could we have been better?

“Gloucester’s defence was very patient. They stuck to their policy of looking to slow the ball down, which they did very well. We didn’t get to the breakdown quick enough, present well enough or hit the right areas, which killed our speed of ball.

“They waited for us to make our mistakes and when we did make mistakes their counterattack was excellent, which put us under huge pressure.”
