Live wheelchair rugby comes to Bristol

Bristol Bears Wheelchair Rugby Club is set to host its first competitive fixture in Bristol on Saturday, February 15th, 2020 at UWE centre for sport, with tickets available to reserve below.

As part of GBWR’s (Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby) South West Development League, Bristol Bears Wheelchair Rugby are halfway through their first formal competitive campaign. With previous legs in Plymouth and Southampton completed, the third leg brings the Bears home, as they host their regional leg.

Playing out of UWE Centre for Sport, the round-robin tournament tips-off at 10am, finishing after a finale of knock-out rugby at 4pm.

The Bears team, sponsored by local law office Irwin Mitchell, will welcome opposition teams from South West Hawks, Team Solent Sharks and Bournemouth Lions. There will also be an Inclusive Sports taster Day for 7-18 year olds running parallel to the competitive event, further demonstrating the growth of wheelchair sport provision as supported by Children in Need and the Ciao Foundation.

Tickets for the event are FREE (with donations on the day gratefully received) but are limited , so please reserve yours now by contacting ktavender@bristolbearsrugby.com to avoid disappointment.
