Clifton 32-33 Old Albanians

Jac Lloyd kicked 12 points for Clifton, but Morgan Thompson's late conversion and tries from Daniel Watt and Christopher West saw Old Albanians edge it in the dying seconds.

Scholar Tomos Gwilliam also featured, making his first start for Clifton at hooker. OA's started strong after early tries and poor defensive work from Clifton with Thompson and West crossing early to race into a 12-0 lead. But Clifton hit back and through Zak Hamid and Ricky Cano, both converted by Lloyd, they started to gain some dominance.

But the game was very much being played end to end with both sides making errors and capitalising on each others misfortune. West hit back again converted by Watt before Halpin crossed on the stroke of half time to even the scores at 19-19.

Clifton started the second half well, Gibbons scoring early before OA's again hit back through Watt, who converted his own try. Lloyd then struck two consecutive penalties and it looked like Clifton were closing the game out.

However, with minutes left on the clock, a missed drop goal attempt let OA's counter and Clifton could not hang in the fight and after multiple phases, Watt steamed in under the sticks, Thompson converting to give OA's a narrow one-point win.

Power earns Dings a losing bonus

Rochford Hundred 22-17 Dings Crusaders

Dings were narrowly beaten for the second week running, this time by Essex-based newcomers Rochford Hundred at Magnolia Road, with Academy centre Dylan Power's late try earning a losing bonus point on the road.

Ben Bamber and Andrew Turner also featured for Dings, who were rewarded for a bright start with an early penalty from fly-half Ben Bolster.

This was quickly countered by Sam Cappaert, who slotted over a penalty for Roachford in the 34th minute.

From a forward surge on the Crusaders' line, Cappaert floated a beautiful long kick across the field for wing George Griffiths to collect and run over for a well taken try. Cappaert converted from wideout to take the score to 10-3 to the home side and it remained that way until half-time.

Rochford full-back Mark Billings scored a fine try to increase the lead. Dings struck back with a try for Josh Body and converted by Bolster. Replacement hooker Jordan Dyer crashed over in the 70th minute for Rochford and Cappaert converted to make it 22-10.

The Bristol side came back with a late try by Dylan Power, with Bolster converting, but Rochford held on for the win.
