Wales international hooker Robyn Lock arrives at Bristol Bears Women ahead of the 2021/22 season.
The six-cap international joins Dave Ward’s squad from Allianz Premier 15s outfit Gloucester-Hartpury.
Lock bolsters Ward’s front row options and adds to the club’s cohort of Wales internationals – of which there are ten.
Twenty-eight-year-old Lock is the Bears third summer addition following the arrival of Abbie Ward and Leanne Riley earlier this summer.
Head Coach Dave Ward said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Robyn into the group as we continue to build and shape our squad throughout the summer in preparation for the Allianz Premier 15s season.
“She’s a destructive ball carrier who can also add more firepower to our defensive line and I’ll be working closely with her to take our set piece to a new level.
“Robyn is an international calibre player who has demonstrated she can compete on the elite stage and I’m looking forward to seeing how she will develop in our High Performance environment.”
Speaking on her arrival, Lock said: “Bears Women are a club that have shown real ambition in what they what achieve, and they align with aspirations of my own.
“It’s an incredibly exciting time to be joining the club with their move to the High Performance Centre – it’s a world-class environment which will allow me to take my game to the next level.
“Dave has been clear in what he expects of us as a group as well as on an individual level and I’m looking forward to working closely with him having played the same position.”
