Max Lahiff has joined Bristol Bears on a one-year deal with immediate effect.
The English-qualified prop – who can play both tighthead and loosehead – linked up with his new teammates at the club’s training base earlier this week.
29 year-old Lahiff spent five seasons at Bath Rugby from January 2015, before departing at the end of last season.
“We’re delighted to bring in somebody of Max’s quality into the squad and he’ll add competition to the front row,” said Director of Rugby Pat Lam.
“Max has a wealth of Premiership experience for both London Irish and Bath, so he understands the pressures and demands of this competition – it’s great to welcome him into the squad.”
Renowned for his scrummaging, Lahiff made 78 appearances for London Irish before spending a season with the Rebels ahead of the 2014 Super Rugby campaign.
He added: “Bristol Bears are one of the most ambitious teams in the competition, so it’s an exciting time to be joining up with the squad.
“Pat Lam spoke to me about the club vision and the direction that the club is going. I’ve heard great things about the culture and environment, so I can’t wait to get started.”
