Ross McMillan believes Bristol must focus on a return to winning ways ahead of Rotherham Titans on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
Bristol went out of the B&I Cup last weekend, but the hooker insists that the players cannot dwell on that result.
"It was a disappointing result for us and no-one is hiding away from that - we can't afford to play like that and expect to get results," McMillan told bristolrugby.co.uk.
"But we can't dwell on that loss now. It's important to put it behind us and move on because we have a chance to make amends for that display on Saturday against a very good Rotherham team.
"We're in a good position in the league and, of course, we want to keep pushing forward because the aim is to finish top of the Championship.
"The environment is very positive. We know we have to work on but there's a focus on making sure we are putting things right."
