Molson Group donates laptops to Bears HITZ pupils

Pupils on the Community Foundation's HITZ programme have been boosted by a generous donation of laptops by programme sponsors, Molson Group.

Former student and current Premiership Rugby HITZ award nominee, Dawda Darboe was at Lockleaze Sports Centre to present the laptops to this year's group, as well as sharing his experience and journey on the programme.

HITZ is Premiership Rugby’s award-winning education and employability programme which, with the help of its partners the CVC Foundation and Wooden Spoon, and official education partner SCL Education Group, works with more than 2,000 14–23-year-olds across England every year, and is delivered nationally by 13 Premiership Rugby Clubs.

Using rugby’s core values of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship, HITZ works to get young people not in education, employment or training (NEET) back into education, training, apprenticeships and/or employment.

Community Foundation HITZ Officer, Nick George, said: “It was great to have, former student, Dawda back to talk to the current group and share his inspirational story.

"The last 18 months have highlighted our reliance on technology and this donation of laptops will help to ensure that students have access to learning whether that are onsite or learning from home. I would like to thank Molson for their ongoing support for HITZ."
