Giorgi Nemsadze will captain Georgia for the first time when they take on Belgium in the lock’s home city of Kutaisi on Saturday.
Nemsadze, who joined Bristol Rugby ahead of the 2016/17 Aviva Premiership campaign, will make his 77th Test appearance in the Rugby Europe International Championship clash.
“It is the first time for me to captain my country, and it's huge responsibility and honour after such players as Mamuka Gorgodze and Merab Sharikadze,” said the 33-year-old.
Nemsadze was on the scoresheet as Georgia thumped Canada 54-22 in Tbilisi in November.
The powerful forward crossed midway through the second half, as a marvellous 34-point performance from full-back, Soso Matiashvili led his country to victory at the Dinamo Arena.
