Number Crunch: Quins showdown

All of the key player, team and form statistics ahead of the Gallagher Premiership clash with Harlequins at Ashton Gate.

  • Bristol Bears only victory in their last four Gallagher Premiership Rugby matches was 31-19 at home to Wasps on 25 February. The Bears have lost just once at Ashton Gate in any competition in 2022: 32-49 to London Irish in Round 16 of Premiership Rugby.
  • Harlequins have won their last three Gallagher Premiership Rugby fixtures, all with maximum points, since slipping up at Saracens on 13 February. The Londoners have gained four away wins in Premiership Rugby this season, at Newcastle in Round 1, Wasps in Round 8, Gloucester in Round 12, and Worcester in Round 18.
  • Harlequins have won their last two games against Bristol Bears in the Premiership; however, they were trailing by 17 or more points at half-time in both of those games.
  • Bristol Bears have won three of their last four games at home in the Premiership, with all matches in that period being decided by margins of greater than 11 points.

  • Harlequins have won their last three Premiership matches in a row, and victory against Bristol Bears would see them win four on the bounce for the first time this season; Harlequins have also claimed a bonus point in each of those three games.
  • Bristol Bears (103) and Harlequins (120) have made more clean breaks than any other sides in this season’s Premiership; however, Bristol Bear’s two line breaks last weekend against Bath Rugby was the joint-fewest they’ve managed in a match this season (also 2 v Leicester Tigers in round 11).
  • Harlequins missed 45 tackles in last weekend’s round of fixtures against Newcastle Falcons, the most any Premiership side has missed in a game whilst still winning since they themselves missed 46 tackles away to Bristol Bears in June 2021 (43-36).
  • Bristol Bears hooker Harry Thacker made more successful line-out throws without losing one than any other player in last weekend’s round of fixtures (13); he also has the third-best line-out throwing success rate of any player to have attempted at least 30 throws this season (95%).
  • No player has made more carries (232), carry meters (2,032) or beaten more defenders (68) than Harlequins’ Tyrone Green in this season’s Premiership; additionally, no player has made more clean breaks this term than Harlequins’ Cadan Murley (17).
  • No player provided more try assists for their teammates in last weekend’s round of fixtures than Harlequins scrum-half Danny Care (2), who also leads the charts for try assists in the Premiership this season (13).
