Number Crunch: Rumble at The Rec

All of the key player, team and form statistics ahead of the Gallagher Premiership round 18 clash with Bath at The Rec.

  • Harry Randall was the only player in Round 17 to score two tries. This was just the fifth time this season that the Bristol Bears have claimed a try bonus point. He also made the joint-most kicks in play (17, = Ben Youngs) for the most metres (510).
  • The Bears have scored five tries from tap penalties, second only to the Exeter Chiefs.
  • Bath Rugby have won only once in any competition since mid-November: 24-16 at home to Newcastle Falcons in Gallagher Premiership Rugby on New Year's Eve.
  • Bath have won three of their last five home games at the Recreation Ground.
  • Bristol Bears only defeat in their last five first team matches was by a solitary point at Saracens in Round 16 of Premiership Rugby.
  • The Bears have won only once away from home in Premiership Rugby since Round 2: 15-12 against Harlequins at the Twickenham Stoop on 27 December.
  • Bristol have lost only one of their last seven encounters with Bath in Premiership Rugby: 27-29 on their most recent visit to the Rec last March.
  • The Bears have won on three of their last four visits to Bath in all competitions.
  • Bath have scored the joint-most tries from turnover ball (eight, = Newcastle Falcons).
  • Bath have won the most scrum penalties in the league on their own feed (30). However, their scrum success rate is still in the bottom three of the Premiership (83%).
  • Struggling to inject pace into their game, Bath have had more rucks this season that last between three and six seconds – and more that last over six seconds – than any other team (184 and 305).
  • Bath have the worst rate of carry dominance in the league (18%). They also have the poorest gain line success (39%).
