Number Crunch: Taking on the Tigers

All of the key player, team and form statistics ahead of the Gallagher Premiership round 12 clash with Leicester Tigers at Ashton Gate.

  • Involving himself in the action as much as possible for the Bristol Bears, Charles Piutau made more carries than any other player in Round 11 (18). He has also made more offloads than any other player in the league (21).
  • Making an impression on his return to the Premiership, Gabriel Ibitoye made the most metres in contact in Round 11, driving forward for 29. His total metres was also the second best of the weekend (105).
  • Bristol Bears centre Piers O’Conor was akin to a hot knife through butter at the weekend, making a round-high four clean breaks. His 12 clean breaks this season make him the Bears’ most penetrative player.
  • With his fires stoked after a frustrating Autumn Nations Series with England, Bears’ top try-scorer Ellis Genge will be desperate to add to his total of four scores so far this campaign.
  • Bristol Bears have lost their last six Gallagher Premiership Rugby matches since beating London Irish 40-36 in Brentford in Round Three.
  • Leicester Tigers have an even won four, lost four record in Gallagher Premiership Rugby this season, although they have won two of their five away games, at Northampton and at Harlequins.
  • Leicester achieved a Premiership Rugby season’s double over Bristol last year for the first time since 2016/17.
  • The Tigers’ 28-26 victory at Ashton Gate in December was only their second success at the venue having previously won there in November 2016.
