O'Conor calls for Bears response against Stade

Piers O'Conor has called for a Bristol Bears response when Stade Français visit Ashton Gate on Saturday (3pm KO), as they look to bounce back from the disappointment of last weekend’s draw with London Irish.

The Bears sit top of Pool Four with maximum points from their opening two fixtures, but O’Conor says they are fully aware of the challenge posed by the Parisians and their world class stars.

“It was a disappointing outcome at the weekend, but these things happen sometimes, and we’ve taken the learnings. We’ve picked out bits and pieces to work on and progress with, and we’re focussing 100% on this week and parking last week’s game – it’s done, we’re now into Europe and that’s what we’re thinking about.

“Stade (Français) have got some very good players who can create something from anywhere and out of nothing. We’ve got to stay within our systems and within what we know.

“We know how we want to play, and we also know that French sides, on their day, can produce anything, so we can’t be complacent in that. We need to stick to what we do and we’re very focused on doing that.

“We want to win this competition and it’s a good opportunity for us. We’re playing some good rugby at the moment; we have aspirations to play at the top level in the Champions Cup and this is a good opportunity for us to get up there.”

Tickets are available from £20* for adult members and under-12s from £10* (*excludes booking fee).

This game is included in your 2019/20 season card package.
