Parsons Proud Of Bristol Ladies Despite Finishing Runners-Up

Bristol Ladies Abbie Parsons reflects on the season after defeat to Aylesford Bulls in the Women's Premiership Final.

Bristol Ladies made club history by getting to the Women's Premiership Final for the first time in it's eight years of existence. A side that has won an impressive 13 out of 16 games this season and undoubtably put on a show for all their fans at Cleve Rugby Club.

Finishing runners-up to Aylesford Bulls in Sunday's Final would not have been the way the West Country side would have wanted to finish their season but front row Abbie Parsons is still in full praise of her team:

"We are all still really proud of what we have achieved. If you had said that we would be fighting for first-place in the play-offs this time last season, when we were celebrating a fifth place finish, then we would have taken that!

"The game didn't go our way but the fact that we won the league is a massive piece of history for Bristol.

Aylesford Bulls went into the play-off final after having beat Lichfield in the semi-final and came out fighting at Sixways.

"They were clinical and quick up in defence, they did well to suffocate us a little bit and full credit has to go to them.

"As I said, it didn't go our way but we have a phenomenal team and have shown that this season.

"The heart in each one of these girls has been amazing, you can't fault it".

Bristol Ladies now start preparations for the new Women's Super League season.
