Pat Lam on shortlist for Global Reach Director of Rugby of the Season award

Pat Lam has been included on the shortlist for Global Reach Director of Rugby of the Season award.

The Bears boss is joined on the shortlist by Steve Borthwick, Billy Millard and Alex Sanderson, with three of the head honchos having steered their sides to the Gallagher Premiership Rugby semi-finals.

Lam’s side led the Gallagher Premiership Rugby table for the majority of the season and have played some exhilarating rugby along the way.

Lam started coaching at the Bears in 2017, and hasn’t looked back, leading them to a return to the Premiership, through a club rebrand, and now into this season’s semi-finals.

The shortlist was selected by a panel of media professionals: Sarah Mockford (Rugby World), Craig Swayne (Fab Rugby), Hugh Godwin (The i), Martin Gillingham (Commentator), Stuart Barnes (Sunday Times), Alex Lowe (The Times), Alastair Eykyn (BT Sport), Bobby Bridge (Reach Media), Ugo Monye (BT Sport) and Daniel Schofield (Daily Telegraph). The panel was chaired by Premiership Rugby’s Communications Director, Paul Morgan, and the winner will be announced at 11am on June 17.

Along with the winner of the Global Reach Director of Rugby award, the winners of the following awards will also be announced at the 2021 Premiership Rugby Awards, presented by Gallagher:

  • Gallagher Premiership Rugby Player of the Season
  • Gallagher Community Player of the Season
  • BT Sport Dream Team
  • The Famous Grouse Try of the Season
  • Land Rover Discovery of the Season
  • Top Try Scorer of the Season
  • Gilbert Golden Boot

The winners at the 2021 Premiership Rugby Awards, presented by Gallagher, will be announced first on Twitter via the @premrugby account. Use hashtag #PremRugbyAwards to join the conversation.
