Players visit St Helens Primary for MUGA pitch opening

Bristol Rugby’s players helped celebrate the opening of a brand new MUGA pitch at St Helen’s CE Primary School in Alveston.

Jordan Crane, Ross McMillan, Jason Harris-Wright, Tyler Gendall and Soane Tonga’uiha attended the occasion on Tuesday, alongside Brizzley Bear.

Parents of pupils at the school raised over £70,000 to build the pitch through a mixture of grant funding, school, PTA and individual donations.

“It’s fantastic to get out into the community and help to celebrate occasions like this. The hard work of everybody involved in the project has resulted in a pitch that will benefit so many young people in Alveston,” hooker Ross McMillan told bristolrugby.co.uk.

“For the players, it’s been a lot of fun to meet the parents and pupils at St Helen’s CE Primary School. There’s plenty of excitement about the new rugby season and we’re grateful to have the support of the city behind us.”
