Director of Rugby, Pat Lam and back, Luke Morahan faced the media ahead of Saturday's Gallagher Premiership clash with Saracens at Ashton Gate (4.30pm KO, BT Sport 1).
“I think excitement is the big word for all of us,” said Pat Lam. “Training is always a means to an end and when you’re not sure about when you’re going to go back, all of the uncertainty, fair play to the guys, they put in some work with that uncertainty.
“But the moment there was a date, August 15th, Saracens was back on, everything just ramped up and everything has been geared to getting back out there and doing the thing we love doing."
Luke Morahan has urged his side to pick up where they left off before the lockdown and extend a five-game winning streak.
“We’ve got two trophies available to us in the next ten weeks, so that’s exciting and gives us motivation and direction,” he said.
“There are a lot of reasons why a fast start is important. We want to pick up where we left off before the break and with a lot of unknown about what could happen in the future, you want to be in the best position possible if there was to be another break."
Lam said: “All of the teams know that, with such a congested fixture list, starting well is massive. So, everyone, all 12 teams, have that aim – to get out there and try and get off to a fast start.
“From my point of view, it’s about being united as a team, doing the teamwork that will give us the best chance – you can have 15 individuals all keen, but it’s got to be one team that’s keen.”
Luke Morahan says fans should be excited about the prospect of Semi Radradra in a Bears shirt.
"Semi is unbelievable – he’s very naturally gifted but he works very hard as well, so it’s no surprise that he’s a world class player.
"And obviously we’ve got Charles as well, who is another world class player. We’re lucky with that talent spread across the group and the depth in the squad will worry a few people, and that’s what we want.
"To go a long way in the competition, you need depth in the squad."
The advance price deadline for Season Tickets for 2022/23 is June 1st.
