Press bitesize: Worcester Warriors (a) - Gallagher Premiership

Director of Rugby, Pat Lam and back rower, Dan Thomas faced the media ahead of Friday's Gallagher Premiership clash with Worcester Warriors at Sixways (6pm KO, BT Sport app & red button).

'A huge challenge'

Dan Thomas on Worcester clash: “It’s always a physical game against Worcester, but I’m looking forward to it, it’s a good challenge. Obviously the last two results haven’t been the best, so we need to bounce back and that’s what we’ll be aiming to do against Worcester on Friday night, and it’ll be a tough game."

Injury update

Pat Lam on squad health: “The main thing is there are no major injuries, we’ve just had guys, like other teams, with bumps and bruises and niggles. Thankfully, we haven’t had anything major over the four games we’ve had – when I say major, I mean more than three or four weeks away.”

Devil in the detail

Thomas on preparation: "Our talk this week has been mostly around detail. The work ethic and physicality has always been there but it’s the detail around what we do. From 1-23, we’re a team and it’s a team game and if someone is out of system it shows during the game, so it’s all about detail and focusing on us."

Managing the schedule

Lam on the Bears' busy schedule: “The games are coming thick and fast and part of the planning is just game to game. The challenge that we face, which is a little bit tougher but makes it more exciting, is that we’ve got Worcester, then four days later we play Northampton, then Wasps on the Sunday and then only a five-day turnaround to our quarter final because Europe put us on a Friday. So, we’ve got to manage quite a few games."
