Bristol Bears ‘A’ slipped to a narrow defeat at the hands of Bath United in torrential conditions on Saturday afternoon.
The visitors went down 19-14 at the Recreation Ground, with Tom Pincus and Tiff Eden posting tries.
The loss means Bears 'A' are without a win in the Premiership Shield so far, following losses to Irish and Bath.
Bath raced into an early lead when Gabe Hamer-Webb took advantage of space to slide over in the corner.
Tiff Eden’s converted try edged the visitors in front, but Bath hit back immediately courtesy of Max Ojomoh’s solo effort.
Levi Douglas added a third from close-range to push the hosts 19-7 up, but Tom Pincus’ intercept try on the brink of half-time kept Bristol in touch.
In a scoreless second half, Bristol went close late in the game through Will Hurrell, but Bath held out for the derby victory.
