Bristol Bears secured a win late on against Harlequins to go five from five in the Allianz Premier 15s.
Dave Ward’s side head into the TikTok Six Nations break in forth, after a bonus-point win at home against closes rivals in the table Harlequins.
Try scorers for the Bears included doubles for Rownita Marston and Lark Davies, whilst Sarah Bern also went over the whitewash. It was the visitors who opened the scoring through Amy Cokayne three minutes in.
Bears went through the phases before Marston went over the try line, Amber Reed’s conversion put the Bears two points ahead.
Twenty minutes gone and the home side were building in Quins’ half and they were rewarded with points when Davies scored off the back of a rolling maul.
Harlequins responded via Heather Cowell and Bella McKenzie converted. Amy Turner’s side scored just before the break via Freya Aucken to head into half time just ahead 14-19.
Davies went over to score her second early in the second half to bring the scores back level.
Bears saw off a prolonged Quins attack. A break Marston, who linked up Davies and Kiera Bevan, brought the Bears to five metres out before the ball was knocked on.
A solid scrum from the Bears led to them securing turnover ball and Marston pounced to claim her second.
Emily Chancellor charged the ball down and dotted down under the sticks, McKenzie’s conversion brought the score back level, 26 all, with only ten minutes to go.
Bern powered over the try line off the back of a rolling maul to secure the win for the Bears.
The Bears next face Exeter Chiefs in the Allianz Cup semi-final on Sunday April, 23rd.
