Superb Bears secure convincing win over DMP Sharks at Shaftesbury Park to kick start Super Saturday.
Dave Ward's side ran in 14 tries with Holly Phillips and Amy Coles both scoring hat-ticks. Phillips was named Pick of the Match.
Other try scorers included Manon Johnes, Grace White, Elinor Snowsill, Mollie Wilkinson, Rownita Marston, Jess Sprague, Hannah Sims and Keira Bevan.
Captain Phoebe Murray linked up with Johnes for the opening try of the afternoon. Soon after, quick ball led to Murray falling just short and the ball ended up in White's hands.
The rolling maul from short range worked for the Bears and Phillips came up to claim her first.
Despite going a player down, Marston was shown yellow for a high shot, the Bears scored through Coles who breezed over from 25-metres out.
Snowsill fended off two tackles to score, before Philips scored her second; the Bears going through the phases on DMP's try line. The lead at the break 34-5.
Tilly Smale, Mollie Wilkinson and Jo Smith were the early changes for Bears in the second half, with Wilkinson scoring in the corner four minutes in.
Marston then stretched the score to 50, the Bears electing to tap and go off the back of a penalty.
Sprague came up to claim the Bears eighth of the morning off the back of a rolling maul. Sims dived through space and scored with twenty minutes to go.
A sublime 50/22 from freshly on the field Bevan led to Phillips' third. Bevan herself went over not long after, Smale with the offload to the returning Welsh International.
The visitors then scored, before Coles ran in a double. The full back running sharp lines the whole game.
The Bears next face Worcester Warriors away on Saturday, December 10th.
Attendance: 422
