Report: Bristol Bears 'A' 19-19 Saracens Storm

Bristol Bears ‘A’ were held to an entertaining draw by Saracens Storm in the Premiership Shield on Saturday.

The home side led late on, but Charlie Watson's last-gasp converted try ensured the shares were spoiled at Clifton RFC.

Nic Stirzaker crossed for the Bears in the first period, while Tiff Eden struck fourteen points with the boot.

What happened?

Despite a yellow card for Saracens' Chester Duff inside the opening five minutes, it was Storm who went ahead when Ali Crossdale went over to score.

Eden hit back with two well-struck penalty goals to keep Bristol in the hunt, before Nic Stirzaker dotted down on the half hour to edge Bears in front.

Andy Christie's unconverted try before the interval ensured the teams went in with little between them at 13-12 at half time.

In a tightly contested second period, Eden added a further two penalty goals, only for Charlie Watson to bundle over at the death and clinch the draw for Saracens.
