Report: Bristol Bears Women 115-0 DMP Durham Sharks

Bristol Bears Women racked up a century of points against DMP Durham Sharks, scoring nineteen tries at Shaftesbury Park.

What happened?

The hosts set their stall out early doors as they scored inside the first five minutes through hooker Hannah West, who crashed over the line off the back of a rolling maul.

Courtney Keight then opened her account for the afternoon soon after as she dotted down in the corner for her first of five scores inside the eighty minutes.

Amber Reed then found a half gap to cross before Phoebe Murray and Sarah Bern crossed the whitewash, which saw the Bears score five tries inside the first 20 minutes.

Wave after wave of attack from the Bears resulted in a quickfire double from Keight to secure a first half hat-trick for the Welsh flyer.

Phoebe Murray bagged her brace before further scores from Keira Bevan and Hannah West sealed an impressive first half to see the Bears lead 60-0.

Keight had a taste for tries on Saturday afternoon and another brace in the second half saw her take her tally up to five, one being an intercept on halfway and the other thanks to a devasting handoff.

Murray secured her hat-trick to continue her fine try-scoring form, followed by a try from replacement Siwan Lillcrap.

Robyn Lock then showed her turn of pace to score twice, before tries from Lucie Skuse, Kyara Martin and Alisha Butchers rounded off the scoring.

Bears Women’s have enjoyed a 100% start to the season through the first three rounds taking maximum points from all three contests.
