Bristol Rugby rounded off 2015 with a stunning 35-0 victory over London Welsh in front of over 11,000 supporters on Sunday.

The hosts scored five tries at Ashton Gate as Mitch Eadie, Marc Jones, Jack Tovey, Will Cliff and Tom Varndell all crossed in an impressive display.

After a closely-fought opening quarter, Bristol went in front courtesy of Mitch Eadie’s try. The back rower dotted down from the back of a driving lineout, while Henson converted superbly from the narrowest of angles.

And the hosts doubled their lead when Marc Jones rounded off a length-of-the-field counter, stretching over after Tom Varndell’s fine chase retrieved possession.

Bristol went 21-0 up on the half hour as Jack Tovey engineered space in the midfield to canter in over the whitewash from forty metres for a third converted score of the opening half.

The bonus point was secured before half-time when the ever-threatening Will Cliff ghosted between two defenders to scramble over, while Henson added the extras.

Bristol continued where they left off following the interval as Tom Varndell latched onto Adrian Jarvis’ delicate grubber to wrestle his way across the line for a fifth converted try.

Brendan Snyman was sin-binned with ten minutes remaining as London Welsh struggled to stem the flow of home attacking pressure.

Andy Robinson’s men came close through Jack Lam late on as Bristol signed off the year in style.
