Bristol Bears suffered a defeat away on the road against Exeter Chiefs in round eight of the Allianz Premier 15s.
Dave Ward’s side drop down to fifth in the table but are equal on points with Saracens, who they play next weekend at home at Shaftesbury Park.
The Bears departed Sandy Park scoreless in the West Country derby. Despite a massive defensive effort, the Chiefs ran in six tries.
Cliodhna Moloney scored twice in the first half and a Liv McGoverne penalty handed the home side a 13-0 lead at the break.
Ill-discipline costs the Bears, and they lost Simi Pam to the bin just before the half-time whistle.
The Chiefs came out and capitalised on the player advantage at the restart. Lori Cramer and Hope Rogers both scored before Bears returned to a full complement of players.
Rosie Inman came on to make her debut for the Bears with then minutes left in the match.
Silvia Turani and Claudia MacDonald were the Chiefs final two try scorers.
The Bears will look to bounce back ahead of clash at home on Saturday, January 28th.
