Report: Harlequins 12-15 Bristol Bears

Bristol Bears dug deep to grind out a gutsy victory over Harlequins at a rain-drenched Twickenham Stoop on Tuesday.

First-half tries from Harry Thacker and Gabriel Ibitoye had fired Pat Lam's side into a 5-15 lead at the interval, before Cadan Murley's score on the hour mark closed the gap heading into the final quarter.ย

In a nervy finale played in wet and wild conditions in West London, Harlequins looked to have snatched a dramatic late victory, but after Oscar Beard had stepped inside and laid it on a plate for the supporting Andre Esterhuizen, AJ MacGinty and Tom Whiteley combined to force the knock-on and deny the Springbok at the very death.

Replacements:ย Head, Baxter, Kerrod, Matthews, Lawday, Gjaltema, Edwards, Beard

Bristol Bears:ย Lane, Morahan, Radradra, Bedlow, Ibitoye, MacGinty, Uren; Thomas, Thacker, Lahiff, Batley, Vui, Luatua, Heenan, Bradbury.
