Bristol Ladies’ winning run was ended by Saracens Ladies at Allianz Park on Sunday.
Elinor Snowsill kicked the visitors into a 6-0 lead with a drop-goal and a penalty, but Bristol were pegged back by two unconverted Saracens tries midway through the first period.
The hosts touched down again before the interval, but Sarah Hunter’s converted score kept Bristol within two points at half time.
In a tightly contested second half, Saracens went over twice more while keeping LJ Adams’ side at bay with a stubborn defensive effort.
Forwards Coach Royston Davies said: “It was a really entertaining game with a strong performance from Bristol. We played brilliantly for sixty minutes, matching Saracens all the way. The experience of the Saracens team shone through in the final quarter – as they upped the pressure, and capitalised on any small errors we made.
“There was such an improvement on our performance from earlier in the season – and we’re ready to move forward for the deciding game against Worcester next weekend, which will determine our place in the playoffs.”
