Sarah Bern returns to Bristol Bears Women

England international Sarah Bern will return to Bristol Bears Women ahead of the new 2018/19 Tyrrell’s Premier 15s season.

The young tight-head prop has been a stand-out performer for the Red Roses since her breakthrough to the senior set-up in 2016, she has been capped 20 times at just 21 years old.

Bern re-joins the Bristol Bears Women after a season with Tyrrell’s Premier 15s opponents Gloucester-Hartpury.

Head coach Kim Oliver said: “It’s fantastic to have a player of Sarah’s calibre re-join us.

“She’s proven she can play at the very top of the women’s game and she will be a great addition to the squad.

“Everyones has been working hard over the pre-season period which has created a competitive environment, and we’re looking forward to seeing the girls push each other over the next couple of weeks as we build towards the opening weekend fixture against Wasps.”

Bern is excited to return and get the Tyrrells Premier 15s season started with the Bears: “It’s great to be back at the club, I can’t wait for the new season to get underway.

“They’ve got a great set-up at Shaftesbury Park which will allow us to push on and develop even further as a team.

“There is a really strong team bond and they have developed a brilliant culture that makes you want to be a part of what they’ve got going on here.

“The team togetherness should also transfer to the field and I’m excited to see what we can do as a group when the TP15’s season gets underway.”
