School ‘Delighted’ To Continue Spectrum Partnership

A Bristol School has praised the quality and provision of Spectrum Project’s work experience initiative, after signing up for an expanded programme ahead of the next academic year.

Warmley Park School - which offers provision for pupils aged 3-19 with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple difficulties, and those on the Autistic Spectrum – will now see four of its students taking part in WEX following the success this year’s student, Nino Genua, who was shortlisted for Premiership Rugby Volunteer of the Year at last month’s Parliamentary Awards.

Marian Lovell, head of Sixth Form at Warmley Park School, said: “Warmley Park is delighted to be working with Bristol Rugby Community Foundation to develop aspirational work experience opportunities for our young people.

“The quality of provision and the longer-term opportunities are truly groundbreaking.

“In addition to increasing confidence and self-esteem, students are able to contextualise their classroom learning in real life situations.

“We are excited about what the future brings in terms of opportunities through the work experience programme.”

Spectrum Project programme manager, Kris Tavender said: “It is fantastic to be continuing our strong partnership with Warmley Park School, using the community connectivity of Bristol Sport and the drive of these fantastic young people to provide truly meaningful work experience opportunities.”
