Six Players Agree Contract Extensions

Six more players have signed new deals at Bristol Rugby to extend their stay at the Club until 2017.

Locks Glen Townson and Mark Sorenson, winger Charlie Amesbury, full back Auguy Slowik and fly half Callum Sheedy all pen one-year deals, while Joe Joyce agrees a two year extension.

Academy duo Joyce and Sheedy have continued to develop rapidly during the campaign, while long-serving second row duo Townson and Sorenson bring a wealth of experience to the pack.

Powerful winger Amesbury is fast approaching fifty appearances in the blue and white hoops since joining in 2013 and full back Slowik is one of the most exciting products of the Academy in recent years.

“We’re continuing to build our squad and these six players have played an important role for us over the past few seasons,” Director of Rugby Andy Robinson told bristolrugby.co.uk.

“I’m pleased for Joe [Joyce], Auguy [Slowik] and Callum [Sheedy] who have come through the Academy system and continue to make improvements to their game.

“Glen [Townson] and Mark [Sorenson] are key operators in our set-piece and a positive influence around the training ground, while Charlie [Amesbury] always shows a level of threat and consistency in his performances from the wing.”
