Sky College takes Teamwork Moment of the Year at RugbyWorks Awards

Sky College in Bristol was the standout winner at the Dallaglio RugbyWorks Awards 2017.

On Thursday 13th July, Francis Emeruwa (Head of School at Francis Barber and former Wasps player) and Raishay Davis (Year 11 at Francis Barber), presented Sky College with the Lawrence Dallaglio Teamwork Moment of the Year award, hosted by the Macquarie Group at their office in the City of London.

The Awards celebrate the successes of the RugbyWorks programme, which supports teenagers outside of mainstream education into sustained further education, employment or training. The programme works with 14-17 year olds over a three-year intensive period within alternative provision schools.

The Teamwork Moment of the Year Award, in particular signifies an outstanding moment in which a group of RugbyWorks young people have united to perform and achieve together. Whether on or off the field, Sky College has demonstrated the core values of the RugbyWorks programme: respect, teamwork and self-discipline.

Lawrence Dallaglio, the charity’s founder and former England Rugby captain, said: “When you’ve had a tough start in life, uniting through sport, particularly rugby, can be immensely powerful."

Dallaglio RugbyWorks currently works in 11 London Boroughs, Newcastle, Bristol, the South West and South Wales with 250 young people. Dallaglio RubyWorks will be launching into two new regions in September, the North West and East Midlands.
