South Africa XV in BS3: Everything you need to know!

Bristol Bears take on South Africa XV at Ashton Gate on Thursday, November 17th (7.30pm) at a sold-out Ashton Gate. Here's everything you need to know about an historic night in BS3.


A stadium-record crowd for a sporting event of 26,387 supporters will pack into Ashton Gate. With a sold-out crowd, supporters are encouraged to arrive early and be prepared with their tickets printed or downloaded before arriving at the turnstiles. Scan the barcode on your phone face up and if scanning a printed ticket, ensure a good quality print where possible. Keep your ticket dry, scan the ticket barcode face up.

Here’s your rundown of what to expect in BS3 on Thursday night:

BEARS TV

Bristol Bears line up for their historic clash against South Africa XV on Thursday evening (November 17th) in front of a sell-out crowd at Ashton Gate.

If you missed out on a ticket, don’t forget you can watch via Bears TV for just £4.99.

The match is available worldwide with Super Sport carrying the broadcast rights for South Africa and its associated territories. 

Coverage on Bears TV will begin at 7pm and will feature all the latest team news and chat from inside both camps as we count down to kick-off. 

The in-game action will feature an eight-camera production with multi-angle, multi-replay, expert commentary and analysis. At half and full-time we’ll have all the highlights and key talking points featuring interviews from players and coaching staff.

MATCHDAY BUS

Fans are advised to use the matchday shuttle bus services which offer free parking and travel from just £1 return. Additional capacity is being added on all routes meaning an increased frequency of services.

Services will depart between 5pm – 7pm as follows:

  • AG1 Portway Park & Ride (via Portway) – approx. every 10 mins
  • AG2 Brislington Park & Ride (direct service) – approx. every 12 mins
  • AG3 Temple Meads (via Broadmead and the centre) – approx. every 15 mins

All services drop-off and collect from Winterstoke Road, outside Ashton Gate. The last return service on all routes will depart at 11pm. Full details including route maps, times, pricing and ticket information is available at www.bristolbearsrugby.com/travel .

With a sell-out crowd buses and the roads near Ashton Gate are likely to be busy and we strongly advise fans to use the earliest service possible pre-match and to consider using later post-match departures.

The Supporters Club Gazebo is in the Fan Park and is located between the Sports Bar main entrance and the Ashton Gate Store. Please visit before or after home matches for all Supporters Club information, away match travel details and payments.
