Spectrum Work Experience Programme Set For Kick-Off

The Spectrum Project’s groundbreaking work experience programme for young people with special educational needs and disabilities (WEX) is set to kick off at Ashton Gate Stadium for tonight’s Aviva Premiership clash with Exeter Chiefs.

The young people will continue where students from Warmley Park School left off this week, bringing the programme to the first Friday night fixture of the season.

Assisted by Spectrum Project’s committed volunteer team, all participants will be undertaking accredited ASDAN units of study to demonstrate their progress and achievements.

All aged 15-19, the young people all have identified Special Educational Needs and attend schools across Bristol, including New Fosseway School and Warmley Park School.

Katland, aged 17 said: “I’m excited about starting my work experience tonight, I’m such a big Bristol Rugby fan.

“I am very nervous as it’s my first time, but I think it will be good and I’m getting a qualification too.”

Supported by the Bristol Ladies, the whole team will be manning the Fanzone with Bristol Rugby flags, face paints and bags of rugby fun, as well as chaperoning the Super Sunday pitch parade at half-time.
