Stat attack: Bath Rugby 13-19 Bristol Bears

Piutau dazzles in the mud, Holmes leads defensive effort and 14 years in the making. Check out the best of the match stats from Sunday's Gallagher Premiership victory over Bath Rugby.

Piutau dazzles in the mud

It seems like a weekly copy and paste job, but once again, Charles Piutau stood head and shoulders above the rest of the field with another man of the match performance on Sunday.

The dazzling full back made an incredible 131 metres and beat 11 defenders, as well as playing a key part in Chris Vui's opening score with the initial line break.

Piutau has now made 1,180 metres in 11 appearances - the most in the Gallagher Premiership by more than 200 - as well as beating a league best 61 defenders

Holmes, sweet Holmes

In a stellar defensive effort, eight Bristol players made more than 10 tackles in a team total of 215.

Leading the way in an attritional display was second row, Ed Holmes, who made a remarkable 23 tackles (92%)

It was a victory built on backs to the wall defence, with Holmes epitomising the Bears performance.

14 years in the making

Bristol's victory over Bath at The Rec was the club's first since 2006 and completed a famous league double over their West Country rivals.

It is also the first time since 2006 that Bristol have won four Premiership games in a row, as they reclaimed third spot in emphatic style on Sunday afternoon.
