Stat attack: Bristol Bears 20-13 Harlequins

Ian Madigan's magnificent display of goal kicking and a first Gallagher Premiership try from Piers O'Conor led Bristol Bears to a gutsy and hard-fought victory over Harlequins on Saturday - and the match statistics painted a very pretty picture for Pat Lam's men.

Carry on, carry on

Five of the game's six top carriers were in Bristol Bears colours, as the hosts piled the pressure on a Harlequins side reduced to 14 men on three separate occasions.

Try scorer Piers O'Conor and second-row, Chris Vui topped the charts with 14 carries apiece, while Will Hurrell (11 carries), Alapati Leiua and Steven Luatua (10 carries) also made the top five.

Metre stick

As well as 28 more carries during the 80 minutes (Bristol Bears 131, Harlequins 103), Bristol Bears also made an impressive 162 metres more than Harlequins - racking up 344 metres to Quins' 182.

Alapati Leiua continued his fine early season form with 80 metres from ten carries, while Luke Morahan (45 metres), Piers O'Conor (43 metres) and Ed Holmes (29 metres) all made the game's top five in this category.

Nathan Earle (43 metres) was the only Harlequins player in the top five.

Wowing in the wet

The rain poured down throughout the 80 minutes at Ashton Gate, but it didn't halt the hosts' offloading game, as Bristol Bears completed 11 offloads to Harlequins one during the match.

It was an impressive handling display from the hosts in difficult conditions, with one such offload from Harry Thacker to Ian Madigan, playing a key part in O'Conor's try.
