Stat attack: Bristol Bears 21-13 Gloucester

From a man of the match display, to offloads galore, Friday's victory over Gloucester had it all. Here's the pick of the bunch from Ashton Gate.



Run Ryan

Ryan Edwards was voted man of the match by the BT Sport commentators on Friday night - and it's little surprise when you see his match statistics.

The speedster made an impressive 139 metres from 13 carries against Gloucester, coming within metres of scoring on two separate occasions.

On a night for the forwards, Edwards provided two huge moments for the victorious Bears.

Danny boy

Dan Thomas put in a typically industrious display against his former club on Friday night, getting through a tonne of work on the openside flank.

Thomas looked back to his best after a frustrating injury layoff during the opening weeks of the season, making 17 tackles during the 80 minutes, with a tackle success rate of 89%.

The flanker also made 10 carries for the hosts, as they secured an important win.


Keeping the ball alive

In a game described by both coaches 'an arm-wrestle', Bristol Bears offloading game proved a decisive factor.

The home side completed 13 offloads to Gloucester's four, allowing them to get in behind the visitors before applying pressure at the set-piece.
