Stat attack: Bristol Bears 23-21 Saracens

Going the distance, Holmes on the steal and Protheroe topping the charts - check out the best of the match stats from Saturday's last-gasp victory over Saracens.

Going the distance

Saturday's victory saw Bristol Bears pass the 9,000-metre mark for the season, with another 487 metres against Saracens.

It takes Pat Lam's men to 9,060 metres for the season, 17 ahead of Northampton Saints and 235 metres ahead of Gloucester Rugby.

Luke Morahan, who has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a shoulder injury, is the team's top metre-maker with 987.

Blue steal

Ed Holmes' performance may have gone somewhat under the radar, but the young lock put in a stellar display at the lineout, disrupting the champions' ball throughout the 80 minutes.

Holmes affected two lineout steals on Saracens' ball, as well as winning six out of six on Bristol's throw, to give the hosts a strong platform from which to attack.

Take Mat

Mat Protheroe made his first start in the Gallagher Premiership against the reigning champions - and the flyer, who also extended his contract at the club this week, gave an impressive account of himself.

Protheroe was the game's leading metre-maker with 106 metres from 11 carries - including a scintillating counter attack that saw him set up Steven Luatua early in the second half.
