Stat attack: Bristol Bears 44-27 London Irish

Tiff on target, Hughes on the charge and Protheroe dazzles Irish. Check out the best of the match stats from Sunday's Premiership Cup victory over London Irish at Ashton Gate.

Tiff competition

Tiff Eden made his first competitive start at Ashton Gate and the fly half impressed with the boot, kicking 18 points with 100% accuracy.

Eden kicked eight from eight to help down London Irish, equalling Ian Madigan's record of successful kicks against Cornish Pirates in December 2017.

Pinpoint.

Hughes and cry

Nathan Hughes grabbed his first try in Bristol Bears colours, latching on to Mat Protheroe's break and offload to canter in from 40 metres.

The number eight made a whopping 21 carries against Irish, making 71 metres. Hughes also made nine tackles (90%) in an impressive all-round display.

Powerhouse.

Take Mat

Mat Protheroe was the game's standout performer with a dazzling display from full back on his second start of the new season.

The speedster grabbed one assist and two tries to lead Bristol to a bonus-point victory, setting up Nathan Hughes midway through the first half and then touching down twice in five minutes to seal the deal for the Bears.

Protheroe's second is an early contender for try of the season, racing away down the the touchline before stepping inside and outstripping the covering Irish defence.

It was him finish the game with an incredible 10 defenders beaten and 144 metres made.

Standout.
