Stat attack: Exeter Chiefs 17-20 Bristol Bears

Bears overhaul record tally, Hughes takes centre stage and another late show. Check out the best of the match stats from Sunday's Gallagher Premiership victory over Exeter Chiefs.

Comeback Kings

Bristol Bears overturned the third-highest points tally in Gallagher Premiership history with the final play of the game in a thrilling West Country derby.

It was also the highest deficit overhauled by a Bristol team in the top flight, with Dan Thomas' last-gasp try completing a memorable comeback at Sandy Park, and their first there in more than ten years.

Herculean Hughes

For the second time this season, Nathan Hughes scooped the man of the match award live on BT Sport with yet another barnstorming display for the Bears.

The number eight made 18 carries and 53 metres, as well as playing a key part in Piers O'Conor's second-half try with a slick offload in the wider channels.

The Late, Late Show

Bristol's last-gasp victory at Sandy Park was the third time in the last nine months that Lam's men have snatched the points with the clock in the red.

Thomas' 81st-minute score followed injury time penalties from Ian Madigan against Northampton Saints at Franklin's Gardens, and against Saracens at Ashton Gate during the 2018/19 campaign.
