Statement: Bristol Bears Women

It is with great regret that we wish to announce that Heidi Chapman-Mercer has left her role as Director and General Manager of Bristol Bears Women.

We would like to thank Heidi for all of her hard work with the Bears over the last 13 years, and particularly for coping with the unprecedented circumstances created by Covid-19 and taking the club from amateur status to that of a semi-professional club.

Heidi Chapman-Mercer said: “I have enjoyed my time at Bristol, seeing the Women’s game begin its path to professionalism has been exciting and empowering.

“I hope the club continues to build on the foundations that all the people before have laid, and that Bristol builds a legacy for Women and Girls Rugby in the city and beyond.”

Everyone at Bears Women wishes Heidi well in her next role.
