Stoke Lodge pupils' marathon effort in aid of Sport Relief

Pupils at Stoke Lodge Primary School in Patchway ran, tagged and passed for more than five hours, as they took part in a tag rugby marathon in aid of Sport Relief on Friday.

The youngsters were joined by Bristol Rugby stars, Sione Faletau and Reiss Cullen, with each of the school’s 12 classes completing a 30-minute session with coaches from Bristol Sport Foundation’s Forever Sport programme.

“It’s been a tremendous effort from the pupils here at Stoke Lodge,” said Foundation coach, Phill Morgan.

“In each of the 30-minute slots, they have shown a lot of skill an enthusiasm – and in all in aid of a fantastic cause.

“To make it even better, Sione and Reiss from Bristol Rugby dropped in to show their support – so we thank them for their time this morning.”

“It’s been amazing to come down and support the pupils at Stoke Lodge this morning. Sport Relief is an amazing cause and the kids here have certainly worked hard to raise money and awareness for the cause. Congratulations to everyone involved.”
