Talking points: Worcester Warriors (h) - Gallagher Premiership

Check out they key talking points from this week's media session, as Director of Rugby, Pat Lam and number eight, Nathan Hughes previewed Saturday's Gallagher Premiership round two clash with Worcester Warriors at Ashton Gate (3pm KO, BT Sport red button/app).

Warriors test

Pat Lam on Worcester Warriors challenge: “They are a team that we have struggled with in the past, and thankfully last season we won both games. But at our ground, it was only 13-10 and though we won by a bit more at Sixways, the final score didn’t reflect the physical nature of the game.

Solly (Alan Solomons) is a fantastic coach and he always gets them pumped for us and we’re expecting a pretty physical contest again. Our focus is building on last week and making sure we continue to grow.”

'Sinckler a quality professional'

Pat Lam on Kyle Sinckler: “(Kyle’s comments) are pretty exciting, because I’ve been pretty happy with what he’s done. I know that he could be better, but when he said 20%, I said ‘wow’. Kyle is great – he’s fitted in so well here, he’s a great guy and the everyone here loves him.

"I think he’s getting better and better as he goes, but that’s Kyle, he’s always pushing and is such a quality professional. Every part of his game, he’s trying to improve.”

Bouncing back

Hughes on Wasps defeat and bouncing back: “In the Wasps game, we threw it away at the end, but during the game we created a lot of opportunities to score points - we came away with some points, but we have reviewed it since, and the focus now is Worcester.

“Worcester are going to bring that physical challenge, so it’s about how we’re going to match it and how we are going to react from the loss at the weekend, and I think the boys are going to react really well."
