Team news: Bath United vs Bristol Bears 'A'

Bristol Bears name a strong side for the final Premiership Shield fixture of the campaign on Saturday (2pm KO).

  • Mat Protheroe and Charlie Powell in backline
  • Luke Daniels back after head injury
  • Stirzaker and Heenan listed as co-captains
  • George Smith and Jack Lam in back row

Mike Hall’s side travel to the Recreation Ground looking to end the campaign on a high in the West Country derby.

Jake Heenan and Nic Stirzaker co-captain a side that includes five of the players who were part of the 23-man squad that beat Saracens last weekend.

"With a game free week in the Gallagher Premiership, this fixture is another opportunity for some guys to get some more minutes ahead of the final block of the season."

Academy manager Mike Hall

Hall said: “With a game free week in the Gallagher Premiership, this fixture is another opportunity for some guys to get some more minutes ahead of the final block of the season.

“We’re delighted to take an experienced side to the Rec and we’ll be aiming to finish the Premiership Shield competition how we started back in August – with a victory over our local neighbours.”
