Team news: Bordeaux-Begles vs Bristol Bears

Charles Piutau returns to the starting line-up as Bristol Bears set their sights on the Heineken Champions Cup knockout stages on Sunday (3pm KO GMT).

  • Bears make six changes for Champions Cup
  • Charles Piutau and Alapati Leiua come into backline
  • Sheedy takes over captaincy for round of 16 clash
  • Thomas, Sinckler, Joyce and Hughes named in pack

Pat Lam makes six changes for the Stade Chaban-Delmas clash as Alapati Leiua comes into the midfield.

Callum Sheedy skippers the side in the enforced absence of Steven Luatua (leg).

In the pack, Yann Thomas and Kyle Sinckler are included in the front row, while Joe Joyce and Nathan Hughes also come in.

Bristol – who overcame Bordeaux in a pulsating Challenge Cup semi-final last season – welcome Harry Randall back into the 23-man squad following an ankle injury.
