Team news: Bristol Bears 'A' vs Exeter Braves

Sam Jeffries will make his first start of the season when Bristol Bears host Exeter Braves on Sunday (1pm KO).

  • Mat Protheroe and Charlie Powell in backline
  • Sam Jeffries earns first start after long term injury
  • Stirzaker and Muldowney listed as co-captains
  • Sam Graham returns to side at no. 8

The talented Academy graduate came off the bench following a season-long back injury on Monday evening.

Mike Hall’s side look to end a run of two successive defeats in the Premiership Shield at the Lockleaze Combination Ground.

Mat Protheroe comes in at full back, while Charlie Powell and Tom Pincus are also included in the backline.

Yann Thomas starts in the front row, while Aly Muldowney and Sam Graham are named in the pack.

“We were frustrated by the second half performance against Gloucester earlier this week, but we have an opportunity to put things right against a very talented Exeter outfit,” said Hall.

“The experience that our young players will get from playing this quality of opposition will be really beneficial for their continued development.”
