Team news: Bristol Bears 'A' vs Harlequins

Bryan Byrne will make his club debut when Bristol Bears ‘A’ host Harlequins on Monday (7.15pm KO).

  • Bryan Byrne set for club debut on Monday evening
  • Ioan Lloyd will start at full-back, while Jake Heenan skippers side
  • Nine of the starting line up are Academy products

The hooker – who arrives on loan from Leinster – is set for his first outing at the Clifton Rugby training base.

Jake Heenan skippers the side from the back row, while Ioan Lloyd starts at full back for the Premiership Shield clash.

Senior Academy Manager Gethin Watts said: “It’s been a while since our last Premiership Shield outing, so Monday evening is a good opportunity for guys to get back out there in a Bears jersey.

“It’s a young team, with nine of the starting line up current or graduates of the Bears Academy. Add the experience of Jake [Heenan] and Nic [Stirzaker] and it’s an exciting prospect."
