Team news: Bristol Bears U18s vs Bath Rugby U18s

Bristol Bears U18s kick off the new campaign with a highly anticipated clash versus Bath Rugby U18s on Saturday (11.30am KO).

Gethin Watts’ side host the West Country derby at Dings’ Shaftesbury Park, as Bears aim to open the competition with victory.

Entry is free for supporters and the bar is open. There is limited parking available at the ground.

Senior Academy manager Watts said: “We’ve been building towards this game for a while and there’s genuine excitement in the group about what we can achieve.

“It’s easy to let the emotion of a derby detract from performance, so we’ve talked about playing with control, staying in system and focusing on our team goals.

“Bath are a well-coached and talented team, so we are under no illusions about the challenge that awaits us on Saturday morning.

“It’ll be a great experience for our boys to represent the Bears jersey in front of our home supporters – please come down and get behind the team.”
