Team news: Bristol Bears vs Sale Sharks

Bristol Bears make four changes for the visit of Sale Sharks in the Gallagher Premiership on Friday (7.45pm KO).

  • Bears make four changes for Sale clash
  • Luke Daniels set for first Premiership outing of campaign
  • Heenan and Malton earn first league starts of season
  • Dave Attwood returns to starting line up

Luke Daniels makes his first Premiership outing of the new campaign in the only change to the backline, as Bristol look to bounce back from narrow defeat at the hands of Harlequins last weekend.

Pat Lam makes three changes to his pack, handing first league starts of the season to Shaun Malton and Jake Heenan, while Dave Attwood returns to the side in the second row.

“Discipline is key and understanding how we manage that process. It’s another Friday night and we look forward to another great atmosphere."

Director of Rugby, Pat Lam

The Director of Rugby said: “Another five points is on offer and we know where we want to be this year, so every point matters.

“The Premiership is so tight it comes down to fine margins, so that’s been a big focus for us this week. Discipline is key and understanding how we manage that process. It’s another Friday night and we look forward to another great atmosphere.

”You can see the difference the home crowd can make to the performance and the difference it made to the team, so it will be great to hopefully see another big crowd.”

Max Lahiff returns to the 23-man squad, while Dan Thomas and Harry Thacker are also listed among the replacements for the Ashton Gate clash.
