Team news: Bristol Bears vs Wasps

Dave Attwood returns to the starting line-up as Bristol welcome Wasps to BS3 on Friday night (7.45pm KO).

  • Dave Attwood returns to starting line-up
  • Alapati Leiua included in midfield versus his former side
  • Bears make two changes from side that lost to Saracens
  • Over 20,000 supporters expected at Ashton Gate

A bumper crowd of over 20,000 is expected for the Ashton Gate clash as Pat Lam’s men look to extend their season-long unbeaten home form.

Lam makes two changes from the side that suffered defeat against Saracens last weekend.

Alapati Leiua come into the backline, while Attwood is the only change to the pack.

“After last week’s disappointment, our best reaction will be what we do on the field rather than what we say. We are relishing that opportunity to inspire our community."

Director of Rugby, Pat Lam

“It’s a massive crowd on Friday and an occasion that we’re really looking forward. We know that there are Bristolians from all over the world coming home for the festive period and we'd love to gift them a performance to celebrate,” said Lam.

“Five points are on offer and that’s been the focus in what has been a short week. After last week’s disappointment, our best reaction will be what we do on the field rather than what we say. We are relishing that opportunity to inspire our community.”

Jordan Lay comes onto the replacements bench for the round seven encounter, while Sam Bedlow remains in the 23-man squad.
