Team news: Bristol Bears Women vs Worcester Warriors Women

Bristol Bears Women make two changes to the starting XV that will take on the Warriors at Shaftesbury Park on Saturday afternoon.

  • Simi Pam returns to front row
  • Clara Nielson skippers the side
  • Unchanged backline

The only two changes for Kim Oliver’s side come in the front row as Simi Pam and Clara Nielson return to the starting line-up ahead of the Warriors test.

The engine room, back row and backline all remain unchanged as the Bears looks to return to winning ways at Shaftesbury Park.

Following her full debut, Holly Phillips has been named among the impact players with Sophie Phillips and University of Bristol student, Georgia Newman also coming into the matchday 23.

Saturday’s fixture against Worcester Warriors Women will be live streamed from Shaftesbury Park via England Rugby and Allianz Premier 15s platforms.

Head Coach Kim Oliver said: "Tough game against Quins at the weekend but we’ve come back in this week and we’ve had a good week’s training and we need to put all our learnings into the game this weekend.

"They [Worcester] have a good scrum and they put really good line speed on us last season, and that put us under a lot of pressure. It’s about us being able to deal with that, working on it this week in training so if that does happen, we know how we’re doing to deal with it.

"Our set-piece wasn’t great last week, and our lineout didn’t function. If we can get that functioning, then it gives our backs opportunity to score. It will be a challenging weekend, but one I’m definitely looking forward to."
